The Stone, Identified

The Stone, Identified is an exploration of formal relationships. What happens when an object is multiplied, rescaled or repositioned? Can a form be identical to another, yet still be perceived as different?

The project consists of three identical forms which are horizontally repositioned in relationship to one another. They serve as office places with collective spaces within. When placed on the site, the three forms react with the site below creating four separate segments for the retails spaces. The dividing diagonal spaces in between become the pedestrian alleys which serve as connectors between Warner Road and Right-of-Way.

A proposal for a retail space / office building in Culver City, CA (2015). In collaboration with Kai Chi Chiu.
